Each patient is required to provide blood work test results prior to surgery. We require testing against:

Complete Blood Count (CBC)
Prothrombin Time (PT)
Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT)
Plasma Prothrombin Time (PPT)
Hepatitis C, B

HIV (Must be Non-Reactive)

You can bring your own blood work (must be less than 90 days old). You can also obtain blood work one day before your surgery, locally in Guadalajara or Tijuana (depending on the location of your procedure). The price is about $75 USD.

For patients over 40 and those with diabetes and/or heart disease, EKG and comprehensive health exam are also necessary. These can be done in Guadalaja or Tijuana upon your arrival.

We accept healthy patients with Body Mass Index (BMI) of up to 35 for most procedures. For penile inversion SRS your BMI must be under 27 and for sigmoid colon SRS your BMI must be under 25.

We have very good news for you! No more painful hair removal! We will surgically remove up to 99% of hair follicles during the surgery. 

Unlike most clinics that require a 50% non-refundable deposit, we only require a small 20% deposit in order to secure your surgery date. This deposit is used to secure your operating room, anesthesiologist, team of medical assistants and hospital room. Deposits are valid for 1 (one) year and cannot be refunded in an event of cancellation or no-show.

Patients are however, allowed to reschedule their procedure up to 10 days prior to the originally scheduled date without loss of deposit. We will do everything we can to accommodate your rescheduling request in the most understanding manner.

Good news! Yes, we securely accept Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards. Please note that a 5% transaction fee and 10% tax will be included (15% total). AMEX and Discover cards are not accepted at this time.

If you cannot make it to your surgery due to an unforeseen event or act of God and have your original itinerary available as proof, we will reschedule your surgery for the next acceptable date without loss of deposit. 

Yes, a US passport valid for at least 6 months is required to enter Mexico by air/land. A visitor visa is not required.

Many US-based or Thailand-based transgender surgeons will often turn down patients with high BMI or other health conditions. MTC is in many cases the last resort for these patients to make their transition dreams a reality.

We often receive such requests. All patients will be under anesthesia during surgery, no exceptions. We use local, IV sedation, epidural and general anesthesia or a combination of thereof, depending on the procedure.

You will be surprised how often we get this question. The answer is simple: Possession and/or transportation of human tissue by unauthorized parties is illegal in both Mexico and the US and is a punishable criminal offense that may result in conviction and a prison sentence. Even if the tissue formerly belonged to your own body. We are not allowed to release any human tissue to patients. All tissue will be safely disposed of as medical waste. If another clinic says “Yes” to this type of request, you should be very worried about potential consequences you will face.
