Official Statement from Mexico Transgender Center
February 24th, 2026
To our community and the public:
Since 2010, the Mexico Transgender Center has maintained a stellar reputation, successfully and safely treating thousands of patients. We take our commitment to patient care and safety very seriously. However, we will not allow our clinic, our surgeons, or our nursing staff to be extorted or defamed by an individual weaponizing their social media following to mask their own medical negligence.
Regarding the claims on popular social media platforms made by the patient known as “Mara,” who has made claims such as “Dr. Carlos Mendez botched me and ruined my life”, we are forced to correct the public record with the following clinical facts:
1. Severe Falsification of Medical Records
This patient deliberately lied to our clinic, our surgeons, and our medical staff. She intentionally failed to disclose her accurate medical history and substance use on her intake forms, and she continued to lie during her direct pre-operative clinical interviews. We have strict safety protocols and do not allow patients with her specific, undisclosed medical history to undergo surgery at our facility. This dangerous omission is the exact reason she was dropped by her previous medical providers in the United States. No responsible clinic would have cleared her for surgery had she been truthful.
2. The Post-Operative Reality: Opioid Withdrawal
The patient’s claims regarding pain management and our refusal to administer certain narcotics are a direct result of her falsified history. Following her procedure, the patient went into active opioid withdrawal. Her erratic behavior, demands, and decision to sign herself out against medical advice (AMA) were driven by this undisclosed condition, not by a lack of advanced medical care on our part.
3. Hostility and Threats Toward Our Staff
We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse toward our medical personnel. The patient was highly aggressive, verbally combative, and offensive to our doctors and nursing staff. The “big 6 ft man” she claims “attacked” her was, in fact, a male hospital security guard. Our head nurse, Yuni, was forced to require a security escort for all room visitations because the patient’s threats and erratic behavior made Yuni legitimately fear for her physical safety. We strongly urge this individual to seek immediate mental health and substance abuse intervention.
4. Compassionate Pricing vs. Extortion
The patient claims we “crunched numbers” for good reviews. The reality is that our clinic offered her thousands of dollars in surgery discounts purely out of compassion for her financial situation. In return, the moment she faced the consequences of her opioid withdrawal, she attempted to extort us, threatening to use her “250k followers” to destroy our livelihood if we did not comply with her demands.
We stand by the exceptional quality of our surgical outcomes and the integrity of our staff. We are fully prepared to contest these false, defamatory statements in a court of law and will pursue all available legal avenues to put an end to this harassment.
